Hairband Frenzy

Hair bands can be used to jazz up any outfit. They lend a girly outlook to any outfit. A name that is synonymous  
with hairbands is Blair Waldorf. She almost single-handedly brought the hairband into the limelight! She made it a staple in any girl's wardrobe. She dons these beauties in many of her looks in her show , Gossip Girl. Blair enjoys wearing bow headbands , headbands with floral accents and even turban headbands! Sometimes she even uses a scarf to pull back her hair. Today I am going  to list some of my favorites from the show. Hope you enjoy them!

Do It Yourself : Funky Rings

Chunky and quirky rings can add the 'fun' element to any outfit. Recently we just toyed around with a few ideas and came up with fun, quirky rings! Check out the supplies list to get started making your own!

Supplies





Things you will need : Wax , Wax Molds , Crayons in different colors , A simple ring

Procedure

Steps:

1) Heat some wax in a bowl till it acquires a paste like texture. 

2) Put in a piece of crayon in the color you like. Add more crayon pieces for darker tones. Don't afraid of experimenting!

3) Pour a small amount of wax in the mold. Make sure you don't pour in too much otherwise your ring will get quite bulky and thick. 

4) Set the wax to dry for about two hours in the mold. 

5) After the wax has set , remove it gently from the mold. 

. 

6) Now attach the ring to the wax and your quirky ring is ready to be worn!

A tip - after you have enough practice with this , you can start carving your rings. When the wax is slightly wet , carve the design you want in it. You can also use 3-D outliners and glitter to decorate your ring.

And yet , some bags have remained just the same.. The iconic Hermes Birkin named after Jane Birkin , the Lady Dior by Dior or the classic quilted Chanel are some examples of such bags. Aayushi and I list the ones at the top.

It is one of the most famous handbags in the world, but what is so special about the iconic Hermès Birkin bag that makes it so attractive?The Hermès Birkin is the Holy Grail of purses. It is one of the doyen of all handbags.Fashionistas fawn over them, Kim Kardashian has more than 6 of them and Victoria Beckham is reputed to have over a hundred. The Birkin is the undisputed Queen of Bags.
For lucky fashionistas who do own a Birkin, it is like carrying a work of arm on your arm.So if you got it , flaunt it!

The Classic Chanel 

One of the most iconic designer bags in the world is Coco Chanel's quilted chain-handle bag, the Chanel 2.55; still as popular today as its initial creation in 1955.Carried on arms of the rich and famous the world over, the Chanel 2.55 chain bag represents the epitome of style and the ultimate status symbol.

The Lady Dior

The Lady Dior bag was designed by Dior for Princess Diana.A bag this lush deserves the spotlight.The bag came into the spotlight after Charlotte , of Sex and the City, was spotted with it multiple times. The Lady Dior bag offers the best of two worlds, pairing neutral elegance with a red carpet demeanor; its suppleness is as cozy as the feather-soft pillow your head sinks into at the end of a long day!

Away At Sea

This summer nautical stripes are in! Rock these with a simple pair of denims and a cross-body bag for a casual day out or throw on a blazer for that amazing dance party. Add some chunky bracelets and a couple of rings and you are good to go . Just remember, with sailor stripes, less is more. Good luck ladies!

For our first post we bring to you our favorite fashion icons. These are women who have changed the world of fashion through their ideas and style creating a whole new dimension in the world of fashion and style.

Audrey Hepburn

Hepburn is often referred to by the fashion media as the most important ‘style icon’ of the 20th century. The style of dress featured by Hepburn in her films strongly influenced the fashion of the period as her clothes and accessories were widely copied. The Little Black Dress became synonymous with her as did pearls , hats , scarves and pretty little ballerinas. She continues to inspire people and her sense of fashion is admired to date.

 

Blair Waldorf

Despite the fact that she is a fictional character, this elite Upper East Sider from Manhattan has managed to snag a spot in my fashion icons list. Blair’s style is very  classic, ethereal and polished.Her outfits are flawless, and she never has a hair out of place. Blair’s fashion sense quintessential upper-east-side stereotype and she carries it off like dream! She has single-handedly brought the headband back in style as shown in the television series , Gossip Girl.

This fashion diva sure knows how to rock her Sabyasachis and Cavallis. with her long legs, slim frame, pretty face, million-dollar smile and gorgeous long hair, Sonam carries off just about any look.Now being hailed as the Fashion Queen of Bollywood she plays with her clothes, accessories, hair and make-up to come up with a refreshing yet chic look each time.
