Fun Is Where We Are

Sometimes, its good to let go. Let all the madness come spilling out , let our crazy side take over , because we have a chance to discover a second side of ourselves. And not to mention , its fun! Coming back , when we were doing this shoot , we wanted the fun colors to stand out, let loose our wild side . So, we paired this one-shouldered Forever 21 dress with a pink feathered owl necklace , lots of bangles and a lime green clutch.  We added hot pink peep toes with a bow detail and a matching FCUK watch. How did you guys have fun?

Revisiting Lucknow

Recently , for an event , I had to dress up in the traditional costume of a state. And of course , me being me , I looked for the most exotic and OTT one I could find. And what better than a benarasi lehenga in brocade work with typical Lucknowi ada ( read Umrao Jaan )? So, dressed in a silk and brocade lehenga I walked down the ramp. For the jewelry , I chose a traditional 'kundan' neckpiece with matching earrings , a crescent shaped 'maang tikka' , and lots of bangles.I also added a 'jhumar' with matching 'kadas' in 'jadtar'. The shoes are by Minelli (invisible here). Hope u enjoy the pics!

Because a Girl Needs Pink

Pink is one colour that truly embodies the spirit of a woman. A hot pink for the parties , a bubblegum shade for a date or a fuchsia for a night of dancing with friends , there is a shade for every mood. Pink is a timeless color and can be carried off by anyone. However , in the olden days , this was not so! Who could wear pink was dictated by a set of rules called the Sumptuary Laws! Can you believe that? How can  a girl of today live without pink! Thankfully , we are now ''allowed''to wear this amazing colour. How do we pair our pinks? A light shade of pink can be paired with a rich , dark colour and a killer pair of heels for a night out or a neutral color and wedges for the perfect brunch date. A deeper shade of pink is more suited for the night if paired with dark colours like navy but it looks equally amazing for a day look if paired with denims or capris. Here , we paired hot pink pants from Vero Moda with an abstract print top with a lace back and added a Guess bag in white to tone down look. How did you pair your pink?

Red Wine

Red is a beautiful , bold colour. Anything red makes a striking impression. They may love it or they may hate it. But they will never be lukewarm about it! Which is why it is also a very tricky color to pull off but if done right , it can make you the belle of the ball.  When wearing red  , bottoms or a top , keep everything else simple to make the red pop out. The easiest thing to do is to pair it with a neutral color like white or beige. If you want to experiment a little and move out of your comfort zone , try pairing it with a solid colored tank or vest. Wear minimal jewelry otherwise your outfit may become overpowering. How did you pair your red?

Here, I paired my Zara denims with a white Ann Taylor shirt and Aldo heels in black and red. I added my good ol' Guess clutch and a ring to go. How did you ladies rock this trend?

Rain and Rainbows

It is surprising how much cheer and joy a single downpour can bring! What began for me as a boring day turned into an adventure as we all left everything to get soaked in the rain.Just because it is raining and you know you are going to get wet does not mean you step out of the house looking boring and drab!In fact , it is that time of the year when you can get away wearing anything. Almost anything. It is warm enough to wear shorts and cool enough to wear denims. However , there are a few to's and not-to's. Here are a few tips so you can look your best this season.

When going out, wear waterproof make-up. Even if it rains , you will still be looking your usual amazing self. Make sure you wear clothes that dry easily so that you do not form a puddle around you when you reach your destination.
Wear rubber shoes and chappals instead of leather ones so that your favourite pair of shoes is not ruined. However , if I am heading out and those heels are a must ,I carry them with me.
Avoid wearing white and other colors and materials that tend to become transparent because there is nothing tackier than peek-a-boo underwear. Another fashion no-no in the monsoon is leather as it tends to become clingy and trust , the feel of leather against your skin is not good.
Another must have this season is funky and cool umbrellas. Classy like Blair or
funky like Katy Perry?

What is your secret mantra this monsoon?

Hairband Frenzy

Hair bands can be used to jazz up any outfit. They lend a girly outlook to any outfit. A name that is synonymous
with hairbands is Blair Waldorf. She almost single-handedly brought the hairband into the limelight! She made it a staple in any girl's wardrobe. She dons these beauties in many of her looks in her show , Gossip Girl. Blair enjoys wearing bow headbands , headbands with floral accents and even turban headbands! Sometimes she even uses a scarf to pull back her hair. Today I am going  to list some of my favorites from the show. Hope you enjoy them!

How did you wear your hairband? Send us pictures and we will publish them!

Do It Yourself : Funky Rings

Chunky and quirky rings can add the 'fun' element to any outfit. Recently we just toyed around with a few ideas and came up with fun, quirky rings! Check out the supplies list to get started making your own!

Supplies

Things you will need : Wax , Wax Molds , Crayons in different colors , A simple ring

Procedure

Steps:

1) Heat some wax in a bowl till it acquires a paste like texture.

2) Put in a piece of crayon in the color you like. Add more crayon pieces for darker tones. Don't afraid of experimenting!

3) Pour a small amount of wax in the mold. Make sure you don't pour in too much otherwise your ring will get quite bulky and thick.

4) Set the wax to dry for about two hours in the mold.

5) After the wax has set , remove it gently from the mold.
6) Now attach the ring to the wax and your quirky ring is ready to be worn!

A tip - after you have enough practice with this , you can start carving your rings. When the wax is slightly wet , carve the design you want in it. You can also use 3-D outliners and glitter to decorate your ring.

Hope you got some ideas from this! Write to us if you have any ideas and we will publish them , crediting you of course!
